FAQ

When does the WoW Forever beta start?
It opens September 17, 2026 and runs through October 21, 2026 (Eastern Time; Blizzard cites the same calendar dates in Pacific Time). The exact start hour has not been announced.
How do I get beta access?
Two routes: opt in free on the official site for a chance at access, or guarantee it with the $59.99 Skyborne Epic Pack or $79.99 Warcraft Forever Collection — a Beta Access Code with redemption instructions arrives by email.
Does the Skyborne Heroic Pack include beta access?
No. The $29.99 Heroic Pack unlocks the Skyborne race, the Zephras Isle starting experience, and Early Name Reservation — but not the beta.
What is the level cap in the beta?
Level 30 at the start of the test, with additional level-cap increases planned during the beta period. The game ships with a level 60 cap.
Can I reserve my character name in the beta?
Yes. Beta testers can create characters and reserve names during the test, and pre-purchase owners get a separate Early Name Reservation window from October 27 through November 3, 2026 — first come, first served.
Do I need to buy a pack to play World of Warcraft: Forever at launch?
No. The game is included with a normal WoW subscription or Game Time, just like Classic. The packs are optional perks that add the Skyborne race, beta access, cosmetics, and game time.
Is there an NDA on the WoW Forever beta?
No official NDA policy has been confirmed as of September 13, 2026. Media outlets are already posting beta screenshots, which suggests coverage is allowed — confirm before planning a stream series.
When does World of Warcraft: Forever launch?
November 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time (3:00 p.m. Pacific), with a level 60 cap at release.

When does the WoW Forever beta start and end?

The beta opens on September 17, 2026 and closes on October 21, 2026 (Eastern Time — Blizzard’s fine print cites the same calendar dates in Pacific Time), with the full game launching on November 4, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. PT. That gives testers roughly five weeks to explore the Classic+ experience before launch.

How do I get beta access?

There are two routes. The free route: Blizzard’s official site has a “Request Beta Access” opt-in — you register for a chance to be invited, no purchase required. The guaranteed route: the $59.99 Skyborne Epic Pack and the $79.99 Warcraft Forever Collection both include guaranteed beta access, delivered as a Beta Access Code with redemption instructions sent to your email. The cheaper $29.99 Heroic Pack — the one that unlocks the Skyborne race — does not include beta access.

Skyborne Heroic Pack$29.99Zephras Isle starting experience, Early Name Reservation, mount + transmog set
Skyborne Epic Pack$59.99✅ guaranteedEverything in Heroic, plus Beta Access Code, 4 pets, 2 tabards, 30 days Game Time
Warcraft Forever Collection$79.99✅ guaranteedEverything in Epic, plus Warcraft III: Reforged with its new Forsaken Kingdom campaign
How is beta access actually delivered on Battle.net?

Per Blizzard’s pre-purchase fine print: buyers of the Epic Pack or Collection receive a Beta Access Code whose redemption instructions are delivered by email. The code requires a WoW game account, and it cannot be redeemed on accounts that already have beta access. When exactly the codes land in inboxes relative to the September 17 opening has not been announced — this section will be updated the moment the client goes live.

What about the free opt-in and Invite-A-Friend codes?

The official site’s “Request Beta Access” opt-in enters you in a drawing for access — it is a chance, not a guarantee, and Blizzard has not said how many opt-in invites will be sent. Separately, qualifying pre-purchases include Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes (one with the Heroic Pack, three with Epic or Collection), but those only grant game access during launch week, November 4–11, 2026 — they are not beta keys. Codes are emailed beginning October 20, 2026.

What can you play in the beta?

The beta starts with a level 30 cap, and Blizzard has said additional level-cap increases will roll out during the test window. You can create characters and reserve your name during the test, and the test covers the headline Classic+ content: the new Skyborne race, the new race and class combinations, and both new and expanded zones.

Dungeons and raids are the big open question: launch content includes new dungeons plus teased raids like Timbermaw, but which of those are testable in the beta and when has not been announced. Our release date & launch guide tracks the full launch picture.

Is there an NDA? Can you stream the beta?

No official NDA policy has been published as of September 13, 2026. Media sites are already posting beta screenshots and datamined findings without takedowns, which strongly suggests streaming and coverage are permitted — but until Blizzard states it outright, treat streaming plans as tentative. Check the official WoW: Forever site for the final word.

What happens after the beta ends?

The beta closes on October 21, 2026, leaving a two-week gap before launch on November 4, 2026. In that window, pre-purchase owners get the separate Early Name Reservation period (October 27 – November 3, first come, first served) to lock their character names before the servers open. The game ships with a level 60 cap that Blizzard says it will keep indefinitely while adding new content — new dungeons, teased raids like Timbermaw, and the roadmap items covered in What is WoW Forever?.
