FAQ

Can Undead be Paladins in WoW Forever?
Yes. Undead Paladin is one of the six new race and class combinations Blizzard listed in the Forever Deep Dive, alongside Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage and Troll Warlock.
Can Undead be Hunters in WoW Forever?
No. Hunter is not part of the Undead roster — the new Hunter combination announced for Forever is Human Hunter. Undead players keep the five Classic classes plus the new Paladin option.
What classes could Undead always play?
Warrior, Rogue, Priest, Mage and Warlock — the Classic-era Undead roster carries over unchanged into Forever, which is built on the original level 1-60 game.
Did Undead racials change in WoW Forever?
Yes. Blizzard confirmed a racial rework: Will of the Forsaken still removes Charm, Fear and Sleep but no longer grants immunity afterward, Cannibalize now restores Health and Mana, and Touch of the Grave adds a life-drain effect.

Which classes can Undead play in WoW Forever?

The Undead roster in World of Warcraft: Forever is the Classic five plus one: Warrior, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warlock, and — newly confirmed — the Paladin. Blizzard’s Forever Deep Dive named Undead Paladin among the six new race and class combinations, making the Forsaken the big winner of the announcement for players who spent two decades asking for it. Everything else about the combination, from starting-zone details to a finished build, is still pending — the dedicated Undead Paladin guide tracks that separately.

Can Undead be Hunters?

No — and this is the most common mix-up in search right now. Human Hunter is the combination Blizzard confirmed; Undead never got the bow-and-pet class in Classic and did not gain it in Forever’s announcement. If you want a Forsaken-flavored ranged class, the closest confirmed options remain Mage and Warlock. Searches for “undead hunter” in the beta period mostly trace back to players misremembering which race got the new combo.

Can Undead be Warriors?

Yes — but that is not new. Undead Warriors have existed since the original 2004 roster, so you will not find Undead Warrior in any “new combinations” list for Forever. What is new for the race is the Paladin pairing and the racial rework below; the melee core of Warrior, Rogue and the casters continues exactly as it did in Classic.

How did the Undead racials change?

The Deep Dive confirmed a rework of the Forsaken racial suite, which matters for any class you pick. Will of the Forsaken keeps its core use but loses a powerful rider, while two other abilities gain real value for caster-heavy rosters like this one.

Undead racialConfirmed directionPractical reading
Will of the ForsakenRemoves Charm, Fear and Sleep; no immunity afterwardA reactive escape tool, tuned down from its Classic dominance in PvP
CannibalizeRestores Health and ManaReal downtime reduction for Mages and Warlocks, not just melee
Underwater BreathingRemains unchangedSituational utility for exploration and watery dungeons
Touch of the GraveChance to drain life from enemiesAdds sustain flavor to any of the six playable classes
How do the racials compare with other races' updates?

The rework is part of a broader racial pass — Blizzard also called out updates for races like Tauren, Orc and Gnome in the same breath as the new combinations. None of the changed values has final coefficients published yet, so treat every racial note as direction rather than a damage or healing rating. The full race-wide picture is tracked in the racials guide.

What is still unconfirmed for Undead characters?

Blizzard has listed the combination and the racial direction, and stopped there. The Tirisfal starting experience has not been described in Forever-specific terms, no Undead Paladin mount or cosmetic variants have been shown, and talent builds for the new pairing wait on live client data. The safest pre-launch plan: pick the race for the fantasy you already know, verify the talent tree rules on your own characters, and wait for official follow-ups before committing to a build.
